honestly, one of the most fun games i've ever played. it is a riot when i play it with my manly friends on our manly wwe nights. and i can play it for hours on end by myself too. the road to wrestlemania storylines are a lot better in this game than in 2009 (i never played 2010) The physics system in the tables/ladders/tlc matches is pretty cool too. One thing that is a tad but disapointing is the fact that you have to do a 'cage breaking finisher' on the hell in a cell match in order to get out of it and climb to the top, but i guess that is more realistic because it is designed to keep you IN the cage hahaha. Also, i like that each superstar/diva is given both 2 signature moves and 2 finisher moves. this is especially nice for people like the undertaker who has upwards of 5 signatures/finishers. this way, you can accomidate all the unique moves of each superstar. wwe universe mode is pretty neat too.I'm no game critic, but as an average wwe fan and gamer, i'd give it a 5 out or 5. I've seen reviews online that give it a 7/10 and and 8/10 which is still good. They keep getting better every year. I've been a wwe svr fan since svr 2008. great game, great buy. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw Online is a cancelled professional wrestlingvideo game previously under development by Vertigo Games that was to be published by THQ for Microsoft Windows.[citation needed]
History[edit]
The project was to be the first SmackDown vs. Raw game ever on PC. It would have marked THQ's fourth game in development exclusively for the growing PC online market.[2] It was promoted as part of the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw series. Though by May 2009 it was renamed WWE Online with ties to the series severed, at the E3 2010 event it was revealed to have been reverted.
On February 2, 2011, THQ held its quarterly earnings conference call and announced that the game was cancelled.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
With WWE SmackDown. vs. Raw Online, players were to be able to connect with other players online to challenge them to a match, interact, or shop with them, which would have included buying each other's brands and wrestlers. The game was to feature both a single mode and a multiplayer one.[3] The player could play as a WWE wrestler or create an original wrestler in search of fame, respect and virtual wealth, in order to reach the final rating for the Hall of Fame. The player would get points that would be used to unlock features, items and level ups. The player could also purchase additional items, abilities and clothing to improve their character.
The Create-a-Wrestler feature, which has been included in past WWE games, was to be implemented into this game. Players would be able to create their own wrestlers and use them in the game. This would include Create-a-Taunt, Create-a-Moveset, Create-an-Arena, Create-a-Finisher, Create-an-Entrance and a brand new 3D Paint Tool that would allow users to import .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, and .PSD files for use in the game.[3]
